Time Alone at a Paris Cafe

Sometimes, I love to be alone. My recipe for being happy and content, alone:

1. Visit corner seat at any cafe you love.
2. Read. One good book.
3. Drink. A cup of good Hot Chocolate.
4. Sit near an overhead heater (if your corner seat is outside).

Voila! Instant Happiness!
p.s. delete any stray negative thoughts that try visit and replace with happy positive memories or pleasant fantasy ;-) then Smile out loud!

Cozy Corner with Hot Chocolate.
Overhead Heater.

Read, look around...keep pleasant thoughts.

Enjoy.

Don't miss the giant dog walking past.
Have a great day alone or with someone you love. Don't let the table with a great view stay empty long.

  3. Hello, Florence. My name is Sandra and I am absolutely loving your blog. I found it through CW's blogroll on www.thecwexperience.blogspot.com. I should have been in bed 2 hours ago, but I have been up reading your blog!

I am so excited to read your blog because you have done what I dream of doing - what I have dreamed of doing for the last 20 years, but have been too afraid to do! I am particularly heartened to see someone who is not 20 years old making this kind of change - I had begun to think that I had missed my chance and had to resign myself to living the life that I'm currently living. I've been trying to keep my dream alive by trying to maintain my fluency in French (I studied French in high school and university).

My big concern is how to make a living in Paris. I have a profession that does not travel well. I also have a big interest in real estate and have been a real estate investor for many years - I sold all but one of my properties right before the market went crazy and I'm trying to sell or rent the last one. My parents were involved in real estate development and investment, so I come by my interest through them. I've also been a mortgage broker (on the side along with my real estate investments).

How exciting that you work for Adrianne Leeds! I heard of her before through the internet and I also saw her episode on House Hunters International (I am a devoted viewer of HHI - I love watching people who are already living my dream).

Thank you for being such a prolific and straightforward blogger (you've barely been in Paris 6 months and yet you have already shared so much of your new life with us)! I particularly love the way you share your dreams of the kind of man you would like to marry or have in your life - I feel the same way! I read your blog and I felt alive again, as if there's still a chance for me to take a risk, step out on a limb, and live my dream.

(Sorry to use "Anonymous" to post this, but it was the only way I could get my comment to post - I don't know why. I normally post via Google as Sandra77)

  4. Sandra, if you get a chance to go to Paris and meet Florence and Adrian, do it! I had the pleasure of working with Florence, and she is as delightful as her blog is.

Happy Thanksgiving, Florence! With whomever or even if you celebrate it.

  5. Thanks Kristin. I miss working with you guys...a little :-) I especially miss the doughnuts, random breakfast celebrations and of course our Thursday lunches! Nice memories of the cubical world and all the wonderfully challenging issues we worked (sometimes at 4AM!). I found my ‘dream apartment’ here in Paris and I really miss the contractor paycheck  I will be brainstorming a way to possibly get with NATO in France or somehow create enough income to move from my studio apt to a one or 2 bedroom apt with a great kitchen….the dream continues….
Happy Thanksgiving to you too…what are you and Rich doing?
You’ll have to keep reading to see what I might or might not do today! Take care!
