An Erotic Novel

Last Night I went to Patricia’s Soiree and presentation of an erotic novel, “Our Lady” by Dale Gershwin.

A few Guest...(Not the author...Dale...just a few guest)

It was just one more reason I love living in Paris. Variety…and now sex. At this soiree there were so many people visiting, traveling, working, living in Paris, and some trying to find themselves, others trying to find the erotic chapters of their own lives. Funny, I’ve tried to tear those same chapters out of my life.

There were so many backgrounds, rich, poor, and in between, very rich and very poor and in between. Yet everyone seemed to be as One in the social gathering. Interested…curious.

The only differences, stereotypes or categorizations of people I realized last night were all inside of my own head. I brought my category boxes, ranking charts, and worthiness scales with me from the States, but each day now I realize they are more and more worthless here in Paris. It’s almost like taking my measuring cups marked in cups and quarts to the local boulangerie in order to assist in making bread. Weights and measures used in the U.S. are useless here in Paris, yet I have them in my mind.

I was inspired to write even more after talking to and listening to Dale Gershwin speak about her book and experiences. I don’t know if I will write a book for sure, but I do know that I will continue to write...in the blog. I don’t know if I will write anything erotic, but I do know I will also continue to write about my life.

Tonight I asked my best friend Benny, what his intentions were for calling me, writing me, texting me and wanting to come to visit in Paris. His reply was simple, “My intentions are to come to Paris and have sex with you.” then he added, "at least I'm being open with you."

Yes, at the least...

  2. Yes, the Benny who's girlfriend just found the emails he was sending me from Afghanistan and somehow he convienced her that we really are "just friends" now. Which he is just a friend to me, but I'm sure he did not tell her what his intentions are for his "just friend"!
Okay, I'll admit it. You, Steve and Ollie were RIGHT 4 months ago...how'd you know?!?

  3. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

Sometimes life is a bowl of cherries, sometimes it's the pits, but every bit of it is good. Good doesn't necessarily mean pleasant. What you take away from this experience, that's what is good. You learn, you cry, you grow, you smile, you live.

It's important that you understand your happiness isn't dependent on anyone else. You make your own happiness, and your own sadness. It all depends on your perspective. You can choose to be happy just as easily as you can choose to be sad. Worrying, crying, screaming, jumping up and down, obsessing, isn't going to make one iota of difference in how things are. Life just is. Enjoy it.
